lot has been happening in the world of Science Fiction lately. Not
least the screening of the brand new series of Dr Who by the ABC on
Saturday evenings. Thus, this edition of Diverse Universe is heavily
focused on this BBC favourite. A must for the Dr Who fans amongst us is
our interview with John Barrowman (Captain Jack).
Personally, I think the BBC did an excellent job in attracting a brand new audience to the series, whilst maintaining the key elements that has contributed to the shows long-term success.
However, we must not forget that not all of our members are Dr Who fans and the club has recently held social functions with differing themes, including shows such as Stargate Atlantis and Farscape. Thanks to all of those who facilitated these events. The club is planning to hold some Star Trek themed events later in the year and we soon have a Day of the Triffids evening coming up. It is important that the club caters to its member’s tastes and I encourage any member to either suggest an event, or even hold one. Event that is!
